Prove that they are in good health. A complete medical examination may be required for this; and

Study Permit Exceptions:

Sometimes, it is not required for you to have a study permit. These exemptions depend on your situation. If you are:

Enrolled in a Short-term course or program:

    • a study permit is not required for a course or program lasting six months or less. It is still recommended to consider applying for a study permit and benefit from its advantages in cases the course unexpectedly last over six months or if other academic opportunities arise.

A foreign representative to Canada:

    • a family member or staff member of a foreign representative to Canada may be exempt from obtaining a study permit.

A member of foreign armed forces:

    • the Visiting Forces Act exempts the need for a study permit for some members of foreign armed forces and their family members. Some requirements must be met to benefit from this exemption.
